KDX Suitable for newbie?

Hi there,

need some straight advice here.

Im a really experienced and confident road rider. Used to be a heavy green laner with land rovers which are long gone. Really had the itch to get back out on the trails and lanes so got it into my head to buy a trailie bike.

I ended up buying a Suzuki DR650SE 1996. Love the bike but Im terrified of it on the trails!! Its just so heavy for inexperienced hands and despite me being 6ft 1in its really tall. I appreciate its got to go as its damaging my confidence and I can see that I would really love to get into the off road trail riding.

Question being is the KDX 200/220 a good starter bike?

Cheers

I think you would like a kdx. Tons of low end torque, easy to start, & very reliable. Go for it. Also simple to maintain.

i used the KDX to get back into the swing of things after a decade of absence
im even taller then you and the KDX fits me well

i think a stock KDX is a very good starting point for you, not to mention a great platform to build a killer woodsbike down the road

+1

Even if it is modded a bit, it will be a great starter bike. My 200 was a bit too much bike for me in the beginning, a bit of seat time took care of that.
