Hello all,
I am disassembling my '89 and can not remove one of the radiator shroud bolts. It seems as if the nut molded into the tank is just spinning. Anyone have any tips on getting it out? I do no want to ruin the tank.
Thanks,
Richard

It happens.

The bolt gets stuck in the brass insert and the brass insert just spins in the tank. I have grabbed the bolt with my cordless drill and spun the insert while pulling and let it melt its way out. Once the bolt and insert are out you can put the insert in a vice and get the bolt out. Clean up the pocket it was in on the tank, glue it back in, and good as new. Almost. :supz:

That's a lot smarter than hacking everything to bits with a hacksaw blade and wire cutters.
.....Not that I would know anything about that
