Newb Piston 220

Post by terminatr »

Hi. I'm planning to replace the 220 piston before it grenades on me.
But I've never cracked open a motorcycle engine before. What kind of
special instruments do I need? Do I need to buy any precision measuring
tools for the bore?

I don't want my bike to be down for more than a week. So I need to
order everything before I start tearing it down.

And is there a how-to article?

there is a great how to in the manual, you should get one.
There's nothing to it really, need gasket kit, piston + rings, wrist pin , clips, bearing and fluids. that's it.

A torque wrench wouldn't hurt.
