This will be my first time replacing the crank seals and bearings do i need any special tools other than a fly wheel puller? And can this be done with the motor still in the frame.I am going to get a service manual what do you guys think of the online manual.

The online manual is great. A one year subscription is fine, just make sure you get it all printed off before your year is up. The motor has to be removed and cases split. You will need to procure or make a case splitter. They are easy to make, or you can just buy one. Any other special tools like a crank puller, are nice to have but you can make do without....

Engine has to come out and you will need a case splitter. Rocky Mountain sells one that works great at a decent price. On the bearings and seals, buy original Kawasaki bearings!

Thanks for the info!
Any tricks for getting the fly wheel off with out a puller. I have a couple gear pullers for automotive apps.
The one will actually hook on the notches on the side of the fly wheel but i was afraid of putting to much pressure and warping somthing.

Buy the puller. Trust me, you don't want to replace one if you don't have to!

Frictions or steels? Frictions, I think factory or aftermarket is fine but I run factory myself. Steels, factory only IMO!
