cold transmission klunk

Post by terminatr »

I get this clunk when shifting into first gear from neutral. This only happens when the bike has been sitting overnight. Is it suppose to do that?

cold transmission klunk

all my bikes do that so i wouldnt worry too much if i were you, but check your gbox oil level first along with your clutch cable for too much slack...the oil in the gearbox settles when not in use so the clutch etc ( which is splash fed with oil when the motor is running) goes a little dry...try it with the clutch lever pulled in on start up for a few minutes then pop it in to gear it shouldnt sound as bad...

The oil is thicker when cold. It's normal.
