1174 vs 1173 needle

Post by cornishwrecker220 »

i think the last number is the position of the circlip on the needle?.. the letter after this e.g 1173L or 1173K indicates the diamater of the needle itself which tells you if its leaner or richer...i`m sure someone on here has a link to explain it a little better..hope this helps.

1174 vs 1173 needle

Kawi complicates things with their OEM needle numbering. Check this sticky in our jetting section and I think it will start to make sense...

In short, the 1173 is the richer needle, but it's nice to know why.

I am thankful for your help. Since a lower jet number is leaner I figured the needle was the same, but of course it ends up being the opposite of what seems to make sense.

I know that this is an old thread, but what is the cross over number for the 1173 needle?

Thanks
