My bike is supposed to be a 91 that's what it says on the frame.

Time for a KX fork swap. Other than that, no.huggyb1972 wrote:any ideas?
I'm sure others will chime in with more wisdom.

Yeah, that pic shows something other than '89-'92 forks. How about a pic of the whole bike?

I ran into the same problem with my '87 KDX. At some point in its past, the left fork got replaced with an early/mid '80s KX fork. The PO put a little steel spacer on so that the KDX caliper would mount to the wider bosses on the fork leg. My motorcycle OCD couldn't handle this, so I bought a cheapie set of used KDX forks to put it right. $50 shipped rings a bell.

I'm not real particular on what front brake I'm running as long as it will let me stop the thing and is not put together like a crack addict on a bad day.
I'm going to buy a new/used in good condition caliper for it since the old one is missing parts and looks like it has been beat on a little. The forks don't look to bad for wear and tear of I can find a while system from a 87-88 KX I will just get that instead.
Next will be a set of tires. The motor was supposedly overhauled however the kick start is flakey and acts like it is not grabbing right so I may have to knock the case apart and take a look in there to see what's up. It seamed fast compared to my old KDX so hopefully the brakes will be the last major thing I need to mess with.
