i wudnt. just wearing out the tire and wheel bearings. better off getting a small trailer or they have a rack that carries the dirtbike like the bicycle ones. only it comes out the hitch

does it come with all the paper work needed to get it plated?

or is there more needed?
yes, mine came with the paperwork for the DMV. Make sure they give it to you during checkout of course.

It was my last trip to the trails.

The custom wheels did it for me. I googled redneck motorcycle trailer.

Think they used extension cord rather than rope. Guess when you really want to ride your willing to do take drastic measures.

well, here is what i ended up getting

Image

it is a 5 by 8 tiltbed trailer that has ramps that slide on a bar (making the entry as wide or narrow as i want) and can he stored upright or completly flat

when i have one bike centered on the trailer i can fit both entry ramps beside it laying flat :)

its a 2002 model with a 2000 pound weight limit and a fresh coat of paint this spring

it has 12 inch rims and cames WITH the plate :boogie:

that's almost exactly how my trailer looked like, before it got stolen  anyways, I would NEVER use something like that on the 1st post where the rear wheel is rolling on the street

that would really suck
everytime anything gets stolen sucks

and this trailer is so light, one could just pick it up and roll off with it, which is why it will be chained down

i havent had a chance to haul the bike with it yet, that will be a few more weeks, first i need to install the wiring to the car

it's a very good trailer, I once had 4 bikes strapped down on mine. Just be sure nobody steals yours!

yeah, she will be chained down for sure

i hauled a desk with it yesterday and it pulls real nice
my only "complaint" is that it is so low i couldnt see it our the rear view mirror when empty

Double check those wheel bearings. Those little 12 in. wheels spin faster than a standard size wheel and probably still have the original grease in them.

will do

i dont think it has bearing buddies on them but thats no big deal, its not a boat trailer after all

shouldnt be too hard to repack the stock bearings :)

little update on the trailer...all set and ready to hit the road
a few changes i made to the trailer, i added the bearing buddies for easy greasing and i added the toolbox (craigslists special 20 bucks)

in order to run the toolbox the way i did i have to extend the tongue by about 18 inches

here's a few pictures of it hooked up behind the wifeys winterbeater

Image

Image

cant really tell from this pic but the trailer has 3 removable wheel chocks, one is in use, the others are hanging out in the toolbox

Image

inside the toolbox i can fit EVERYTHING for a few days riding
that fly racing bags contains both my size 14 riding boots, pants, jersey, gloves, goggles, helmet, chest protector and camelback
its a perfect fit and the lid doesnt even seem to squeeze it

Image

a few gallons of gas, extra ratchet straps and 20 ft of chain with a padlock to chain the trailer and the bike up during overnight parking

Image

the other two wheel chocks, a footpump, basic mechanics toolkit, some rags and a first aid kit
and the white box contains a come along...just 'cause

I use one of these
http://www.harborfreight.com/400-lb-rec ... 99721.html

It will need some adjustments to the tiedown points but it works pretty well. Most of the dirt bike magazines have a coupon that brings the price down to about $110.
I use a similar setup and it works great. A benefit is I don't have to get a plate and registration like I would a trailer. Downside is my riding buds have to figure out their own transportation. If I had the room for a trailer, I'd have one but these are a good solution for people with limited space or only one bike.

Not sure about Michigan, but here in PA the laws have changed & those trailers have gotten harder & more expensive to register and plate...
Used to be you just assembled it took some pics and took it to get weighed & inspected - now it requires an enhanced inspection station and I believe around $100 for that alone.
I'd check it out before you buy.

So, from the pictures you posted I can see that your wifes winter better is probably nicer then what half or more of the people on here have for there good car. You have an all cement driveway ($$$$). And yet you still feel the need to try to get people to send you 10 cent trinkets so you don't have to buy them? WoW...
