Changing fork oil? Forks off now what? Help

Post by edog600 »

OK. Bike newbie here. Trying to change the fork oil. Forks are off and I unscrewed the top cap. I can see the spring inside but nothing is coming apart. How do I drain and refill? Thanks

When I dumped out the old fork oil it was black and smelled like fish. I'm guessing that's not good.

It is normal for the OEM oil.
It wouldn't hurt to change it again after a couple of rides.
