Crank seals. Do I need to split cases?

Post by Terrence Sprocket »

I'm pretty sure I need to split the crankcases to install new crank seals on my E series 200. I'm just wondering if any one knew of a way to do it without splitting them, or is it the only way?

Thanx.

You'll also want to replace the crank bearings.

And if that E is all original, I'd replace all the other bearings in there while the cases are apart. If you do all that, you won't have to split it for a long time.

Ok. What other bearings are u referring to? The tranny shaft bearings, and clutch bearings, etc?

I think he's talking about the crank rod bearing and the crankcase bearings.
