I have a slowly leaking leaking petcock ( :butthead: ) which I assume needs replacing or some sort of seal redone. Am I thinking right, does anybody have any advice, did you tell your honey that you shrunk the kids?

Also, the last owner stored this bike without gas, and as a result the brass in the carb is having some issues (power lag in low rpm). The piece that fits into the float bowl bent off without much pressure (honestly think it was broken before I opened the carb) and I was wondering if it was possible to just buy that part or am I stuck with buying a whole set of jets/needles?

My KDX had a leaking petcock, I cleaned it out good and replaced the O-ring and I was good to go. And as far as I know, you can buy almost any individual part for the carb. Go here and select what year your KDX is, and you should find a diagram that points out and lists every part of the carb:
