Mystery rich condition

The block box was the culprit!
I recenlty picked up a low-time 2001 KDX220 - ran really rich off of idle through mid, kinda seemed like a needle problem or a cork up it's arse. The previous owner had stuck a humongous needle in it to compensate - but no matter how lean the jets, it seemed like the plug was always wet after shut down and at mid-throttle it would never run clear. Jetting did help tho' which kinda faked me out some.
After the usual routine, checking for exhaust restriction, air way obstruction, wiring, etc...I swapped out the black box...and it ran perfectly.
Just something to file under troubleshooting "could be's".
