front brake rebuild '89 kdx200

Post by motojo »

The front brake on my '89 was no worky when I picked up my bike a few weeks back. When I checked, the reservoir is was empty so I filled and bled the brakes. After some riding with totally non braking brakes, I see that fluid was leaking out of the caliper. That made sense why the brakes didn't grab, the pads were soaked.
Ok now I have the parts (I think) to fix the problen in my grubby little hands. I have new pads, a new square o-ring looking seal, and the 2 boots. I'm going to tear into it this weekend. Is there anything special I should know about the KDX or is it just your standard caliper rebuild?

Standard rebuild, nothing special to look for. Moving to general Q&A.

Got the brakes done. Used my reverse bleeder which is the cat's as*! She stops great now!
