Holy ****! I sure wish I liked aluminum framed machines, because that is sexy. Wonder what's up with the powervalve setup, and 5 speed trans? Maybe a typo. Says 5 speed in the description, and 6 speed in the specs list.

When I was building my hybrid, I looked for a KLX 450 head light to get a more modern Kawasaki look, but I cheaped out instead with Acerbis. I really do like how that KLX light looks. Beautiful bike.

What are they talking about regarding the power valve decompression feature for easier starting?

Yeah, sounds like they have done something to the powervalve setup. Of course, at a glance it looks like they have copied most of the description from the kx250af, so perhaps some of this actually doesn't apply...

I wonder where they source the motors from.

Is the KDX motor still in production for use in other vehicles?

And, of course, it would be easy enough to upgrade that motor to the mighty 220.

That is what the KDX should have been refined into.

Service Honda makes other custom bikes, like brand new CR250s, so that offering doesn't surprise me. Only think is the 250Fs run in the 200 cc class here, so it probably couldn't compete unless they get more power out of the engine.
This is my rifle, this is my gun, the YZ to go fast, the KDX is for fun!

Notice the curb weight of only 223.1 pounds! Damn, it sure is a nice bike but I can build one just as nice for a lot less. Still cool that they offering it though.

Yeah, too pricey....223 lbs isn't that much lighter than an H model with aftermarket pipe and silencer (it's weird that they don't use wet or dry weight like other manufacturers). I don't know why they went with a 19 inch rear wheel for off-road competition either.

Maybe someone will buy me one for my birthday. I wonder who would cough up that kind of money for this bike? Not my wife...hmmmm

Unless you're jonsing for a modern 500cc 2t or have tons of disposable cash, I can't imagine buying any of the overpriced bikes offered by Service (insert Japanese brand here). Even then, if I had to spend 12k on a dirt bike, I'd buy something from a regular dealer and throw the rest at the suspension and all the works carbon fiber billet titanium bling that the extra 6 grand would pick up.

But that's just me. I like to personalize my machine myself.

They are kinda crazy on their custom bikes, but they sure do have good prices on parts.

looks very nice but cant justify the heafty price tag for what is basically a 200/220 powered kxf...its displacement wouldnt make it competitive against the likes of a 2 stroke ktm, husaberg or tm of the same cc`s unless you spend money on engine mods to bring it up to spec....if you decide to use it for trail riding then you`ll have to spend more cash on the suspension to soften it up so its more user friendly out on the trails....i`ll say it does look very nice tho & if i was going to purchase one i`d buy the 500

"Durable five speed transmission with oil level check window" - I wonder how much that feature added to the cost of the bike?

I am in the process of building my own. For alot less than 12.5K  .

A 2007 KXF 250 roller with a 2001 220 motor.

Details will follow. I can say that the swingarm does NOT need to be cut.

The specs read about like any U.J.M. {universal japenese moto-crosser}.
In this case a 125 with some kind of modified jug they don't talk about.
All for 12500 before adding options.
It also has a 5 speed transmission. {Close-ratio motocross unit?}No options are mentioned.
In sum- KDX with a real narrow buyer demographic.
reviving old war-horse.
