why 32:1 or 50:1... I mix with Putoline oil 1:40 (25ml oil in each litre of fuel)

Easy to dose and it isn't to much nor to less

Mix it to what you bike is jetted for. You don't just change mix ratios willy nilly.

Amsoil Interceptor at 50 to 1 is what I run. If your bike is jetted too rich though, it'll smoke no matter what you run.

Too rich won't hurt anything. Too lean will. Don't let some smoke worry you.

Indeed a rich jetting causes a lot of smoke and can lead to greased up sparkplugs, failure of your kips (if not cleaned often)..
SO GET YOUR JETTING SORTED OUT!

If not the jetting it could be your right oil seal, does it use engine oil ?

With the Putoline MX7 oil I use my Kips stays quite clean and absolutely no spooge in out of the back, doesn't smoke a lot (ofcourse it does when its cold, but thats just 2stroke)

I've also tried Castrol TTS, almost the same only Castrol does cost a bit more but it smells better :supz:

Exactly! Your mix ratio doesn't mean squat as far as smoke is concerned. Your smoke issue is either poor jetting, a leaking cranking seal, or a combination of the two.

FTR, I run 32:1 Maxima 927 w/Chevron 91 and don't have any smoke problems when properly jetted.

....rather jet for what the bike needs period. As mentioned you're surely rich now. Switching to 50:1 is fine, but you'll actually be richening your FUEL:AIR mixture. Don't confuse rich/lean terms with oil mix, they should be reserved for FUEL:AIR. I like to use the term 'weight' for oil mix. I like 40:1 as it's easy to mix using refillable crappy weedeater oil bottles :D Plenty of protection, and a little less finicky than heavier mixes. However, I've run 20:1, and maintained a bone dry silencer core (not in a KDX). Run a full synthetic, and read up on jetting. :supz:

Agree with Fuzzy. Rich/Lean does not apply to oil mixture. The smoke is all in your jetting. You could jet it to run cleanly and with very little smoke using as much oil as 16:1 if you like. I use 40:1 as well, mostly for ease of use.
