Which engine tools to get?

Post by ktm950se »

Greetings,
To continue on to my earlier thread, "Time for another rebuild - Help pick the best parts!!!", can anyone suggest which flywheel puller, case splitter, and crankshaft installation tools I should buy. I'd like to get them ASAP, and don't want to accidentally buy the wrong ones, so if you have part #s that'd be great.

Thanks!

The Tusk brand flywheel puller and case splitter work great plus they are a good deal.

You don't need any special tools to install the crank. However, you will probably need a tool to pull the old bearings off the crank. I haven't found a puller that works well for that as of yet. Talk with whoever you get to rebuild your crank and see if they can do it. Mine will remove them for free.

Another vote for the Tusk brand tools. I have the case splitter and bearing installer. They work great and cost a fraction of what the other guys charge.
