kdx 220R 2002 led 15W or 18W

Post by l2f »

Hello,

I have a kdx 220R 2002 with stock lighting coil and I have a acerbis headlight, dual mr16 lights but the lights draw 35w each so with the taillight (10w) it draws 80w too much for the stock coil. I am wondering if I am able to put 2 led lights but with which power: 2x15w + tailights = 40W or 2x18w + taillights = 46W ?

Thank in advance for your help

Neither. The stock lighting coil puts out 30-35 watts max. You need to upgrade your stator or check into one of the more expensive LEDs light out there.

on a side note, LEDs draw WAY less then their filament counterparts

the LED equivelant of an 1157 taillight bulb will only draw less then one watt
so replacing the taillight with a LED will prettymuch take it out of the eqaution as far as draw goes

Very true. I guess I should have mentioned that since that is what I did on mine.

I realized that you are right, anyway I have to upgrade my lighting coil and it's the cheapest solution.

Thanks
