No. Why?
There is a 2nd timing programmed into the CDI to alter timing around 6k rpm when the kips valves open. Any "universal" CDI would not have this, and performance would suffer. There is that "wolfpack" CDI, although I believe it was designed with the KDX in mind, so should work fine. Do a search here to find out more.
