Jetting with woods pipe?

Post by sexpanther34 »

hello fellow kdx riders,
i just have a quick question regarding the fmf woods pipe i will receive tomorrow. i'm ordering the turbine core 2 silencer in the next few weeks, and was wondering if i can install the expansion chamber and not have to worry about jetting the bike until after i get the silencer? or would the expansion chamber really throw off the jetting? my bike runs a little rich as it is now. thanks in advance. Zach

so then if i install my woods pipe, and the bike still runs like a raped ape, is re-jetting even necessary? on the fredette site, he says, there is no need to rejet after installing the woods pipe. i would like to know if this truly is the case.

What are you jetted at now?
If it's a little rich as you say, you will still be safe I would figure. Wouldn't hurt to go through the procedure to check it anyway.

You will be fine if you are stock or a little rich.
I ran a 220 jetted stock with a woods pipe for quite a while. It was O'K'. It was better once I leaned it out a bit.

What is a FIL? Will it affect your riding?

Father in law- he has a bunch of single track around his place, but nothing too crazy..there isn't enough room to get into 3rd gear.. so i have to go somewhere with a long straight away in order to follow the jetting guide.

Providing your jetting is stock (48-160), you'll need to go quite a bit leaner no matter what you put on it. Yeah, see what you have now and let us know.
