1996 KDX-KX plastic fittament
I have a 96 KDX200 and would like to find out what years/model rear fenders and front number plate from a KX125/250 is a direct bolt on to my bike. Just looking to make it a little lighter since I very seldom ride at night. Thanks

For a front fender and numberplate, you can pretty much pick one you like the look of, and make it fit. Most newer MX number plates match up to the fender. If you want to keep the stock fender, an older kx500 number plate is pretty easy to fit.
There are no bolt on kx rear fenders. FRPOffroad offers the maier mx style rear fender, which is the only direct bolt-on, AFAIK.

If you really want to take the time to try and fit a KX fender then I suggest looking at what the KX500 are using for their bikes. The 500 frame is very similar to the KDX. Here is a link to some info on them. http://www.kxriders.com/forums/index.ph ... 456.0.html

Yeah, just about anything can be made to fit. I have an '06-'08 YZ450F rear fender on mine! Anyways, check out the link I provided you and you will see some pics of those installs.

That's all well and good for an E series KDX. Not even close for an H bike though.....SS109 wrote:If you really want to take the time to try and fit a KX fender then I suggest looking at what the KX500 are using for their bikes. I will have to disagree with this statement. Bought a 04 KX250 fender, and there is no way to mount it and make it look better than if a 3rd grader did it. I should have known with the way the grab rails extend out the rear and the KX fender is about 2" too narrow. I guess I will have to shell out the $60 bucks for the FRP fender. Oh well, only out $20 bucks on a used fender.heckler wrote:it's plastic. cut it, drill it. that's how the KX rear fender fits on my bike.

THE LOWER MOUNTING OF THE KX250 NUMBER PLATE WILL REQUIRE A LITTLE CREATIVITY WITH SOME CUSTOM BRACKETS. IT DOES LOOK BETTER THAN THE OLD DRAGON HEADLAMP.
I'D RECCOMEND A CYCRA STADIUM STYLE NUMBER PLATE. THEY LABEL THE COLOR AS "WORKS CLEAR", BUT IT IS A SORT OF TRANSPARANT WHITE. THE LOWER MOUNTS ATTACH DIRECTLY TO THE FORK TUBES WITH CABLE TIES. THE KIT INCLUDES HARDWARE FOR TOP AND FRONT BOLT UPPER MOUNTING. I JUST PUT ONE ON MY 96 KDX WITH 02 KX125 USD FORKS. IT FIT NICELY, LOOKS GOOD AND WAS UNDER $30 @MOTORCYCLE SUPERSTORE. SORRY, NO PICS YET......
