So i thought about replacing my wheel bearing on the front wheel and i have a question with regards to the oil seals.

The drawing on bikebandit (under front hub section) shows only one seal on the bearing on the opposite side of the speedo.

On the speedo side there is a much larger oil seal but nothing covering the bearing like on the other side.

Is this how it is supposed to be or am I missing a bearing on the speedo side?

That is correct.
The bearings themselves are sealed. That speedo side set up is really no different than the rear setup, where the axle spacers go through seals but there is no seal between the axle and the axle spacers.
