The rod looks usable. I know for sure I have no spare subvalves. My bike used to eat them up. How is the main valve?
I assume you've seen the "Bigfoot CAPTURED" thread? I feel sure that plate is an improvement. Also, where the little pin on the bottom of the subvalve rides in the cylinder, you can tighten that up a bit if there's too much slop. Those things along with new valves and collars and proper lube they should last you a long time. Hopefully...

ok got the pin out yesterday. for the hell of it i ball honed the cylinder and i got some cross hatch in the cylinder. its going to be a trail bike and maybe hit the trail twice a month. i might get a piston and rings and give it a try. i trued up the head and i just need too tru up the top of te cylinder too. whats the worse that could go wrong have too pull it apart again and get new rings and replate the cylinder.

Pics would be good to assess how bad your cylinder really is.
Yeah what's the worst that could happen if your piston and ring go kaboom, aside from a destroyed cylinder, + piston , + new rod, and new bottom end...

I used powerseal on my last replate and was happy with the results.
Only downside on running without the valve is you'll have about 0 low end.

Re: cylinder bore question
I have an 84 kdx 200 and upon splitting my case I found rusty main bearings. Looking to do a rebuild can't find anything for piston kit . I believe my cylinder is plated as I do not see a seem for a sleeve. any ideas?
