89 200 water pump
hey just got a 89 kdx 200 runs great don't know alot about dirt bikes just getting into it did drain the coolant and noticed that the fin in the pump if you pull on it the shaft moves in and out a little is this normal? moves maybe little less that 1/4 inch does not wobble or anything its smooth free spinning.

mine had the same
just make sure the blades arn't bent if you want to get really fussy.
btw there is a 10mm bolt under the water pump to drain the system. No need to remove the cover.
Have you read about the kips issues for this model (same year as mine btw). Just run a good oil (amsoil interceptor in mine 40-1) and make sure your piston is in good shape.(they last long though) I didn't and had to replace alot of stuff when mine let go.
Other than that these are really good engines that last a long time and have lots of torque, Enjoy.
