Just thought I'd share that, if you lay the bike down carefully on its side, you can remove the cover without draining (or dropping) the oil. You don't even have to remove the clutch cable... just flip the cover up and out of the way with the cable still attached.

I also replaced those stupid Philips screws with Allen ones while I was in there... after having to cut slots in two of the old ones with an angle grinder to get them loose.
