Saw this on Ebay, just wondering if anybody has any input on this coil.

Unless your current ignition coil is non-functioning; this will add zero HP gain.

Wasn't really expecting a whole lot, just thought it might be a mild improvement over stock and for $68............

the `monster` coil has more wire wound around it inside than a standard coil, this would produce a stronger spark which in turn should burn the fuel better & improve throttle response & starting, it would also maintain a good strong spark throughout the whole rpm range, i ran a similar upgrade on my 1000cc road bike which worked very well.

good info thanks, I might have to try one of these out and post a review

i thought about this upgrade for my kdx...recon with a irridium plug installed the combustion would be cleaned up ( for a 2 stroke) by improveing the way the fuel is burnt throughout the rev range making the throttle response better. i look forward to hearing your reply if you decide to purchase the monster coil.

I have seen people try this several times over the years, and for the most part, snake oil IMHO

Mhm. Unless you're having an issue with partial ignition, a "stronger spark" ain't gonna help anything. Can't fix a problem you don't have.

True. A stronger coil is sometimes necessary when increasing your compression ratio but otherwise is not needed.

These bikes spark pretty well. This only thing I'd sink $ into to try would be a programmable multi spark (MSD) ignition, and that could still use the stock coil.

Replacing my source coil with one from Ricky Stator made a huge difference on my bike, but my OEM source coil was reading low on resistance....
My bike starts 1st kick every time, now, and has a killer top end.
(My OEM coil read ~175 ohms, the RS coil reads ~385)
