Some of us go out and ride all day. In other words, 5+ hours of actual riding time, away from our staging areas. Add in get-offs that cause loss of fuel, obstacles you can't make it past, up, or down the first time, mud, deep sand, etc., you can burn through it rather fast.

I can remember one ride where I left with a full tank and had to hit reserve right before I got back to my truck. That is a little too close for comfort for me!
