E or H series

Post by osobad »

Been looking at getting KDX 200 for hare sramble. I can get 1990 in good shap for 700.00 or 2000 in same shape for 1300. Is the H series worth the 600.00 more or will the 1990 do just as good a job.

The 2000 will be easier to get parts for in the future. The 90 is an e series. Made from 89-94. Some parts have been discontinued, but so far it's not too much trouble to find anything. In 95 the bike was totally redesigned, perimiter frame, improved ergo's, and a more modern look. Much of the engine remained the same. I personally think the E series motor has better power delivery, but either can be tuned extensively to do whatever you want. I guess it really just depends on if you have the extra 600, or want to go cheaper and get the 90. Either one will probably need suspension work, so that's something to remember. Either one also makes a very good woods bike.
