Air Filter Question

Post by grump99 »

Hi everyone,

I have a 2004 KDX 200. My air filter was shot so I oiled up a new Twin-Air filter and went to install it.

It seems that the wingnut screw rubs against the filter when I tighten it down. Is this ok? I was thinking of adding a teflon washer so the foam is not damaged.

My second question is, how tight should the screw be? It feels like I might damage the foam if I overtighten?

Thanks so much!

Tony.

The filter material should push down and under the brass bit in the center of the cage. The wingnut tightens down against the brass, not the foam.

Firmly hand tight will be fine on that wingnut bolt.
