Brake pad service limits

Post by HankXR250 »

I know there must be a thread on this, but have not been able to find it. And, I am dismayed that the online service manual is a little light on specifications!

What is the min thickness of front and rear brake pads? While I'm at it, how about min thickness of the 2 rotors, also?

Thanks.

It's not quite that technical

As long as there's still pad showing, in my book they are still serviceable

The rotor will probably say the "Min thickness".

And ya, if there is pad and they aren't groved up to bad go with them. I find I cook them before they wear out.

Thanks for the responses

I'll just check the rotor and probably keep what I have - I'm slow enough now I can just drag my feet.
