Kdx 220 upgrade to RB Design, KLX forks, and boyseen reeds

After reading your post for awhile now I have decided to do some upgrades.
First I sent head and carb to RB Design, Mandatory upgrade from what I have read.
I got a gnarly desert pipe and FMF silencer.
I got Boyeseen 607 Reeds. First question, They look different, The stock ones are three pedals on each side, the 607's are a two piece one with three holes in it and a second one that lays over top of it. Fits fine just looks very different. Does this sound correct?
next question, I have a set of 2007 KLX 250 Front forks, They look like they would fit, should keep the softer ride for trail riding, and not have the extension hanging below the axle, Has anyone had any experience with this conversion, Thanks for your advise
