old engine oil is fine for the chain, you either want dry wax lube or something that will fling

I've used WD40 for years. After spraying the chain (spinning the wheel while the bike is on a milk crate), I take an old rag and spin the wheel while rubbing the chain with the rag. Watch the ol finger tips!!

I use K..... no wait a minute. Different "her"....

I've tried that dry wax stuff and didn't particularly like it. Just about any chain lube you can find at the local dealership should work OK. I can't find any of what I've been running (I guess my son has taken it all with him) and I don't remember what brand it was. It may have been Klotz as I use a lot of Klotz products. Almost anything is better than nothing though. Spit on.... never mind. Different application again.

I am running DID X-Ring chains on everything except our TT-R230 (haven't had to replace it yet). I use the same lube on all of them. I'll find out what it is and reply again.

The Dupont stuff works a lot better than say that maxima chain wax crap

It does not build up like the maxima does. The maxima wax is a pita to remove and seems to gum up the links

In my experience, wd40 gets past the o-rings and flushes the grease out

Sorry to be so slow getting back to this thread. We use Maxima Chain Guard. I buy it at our local dealership.

I like Bel Ray super clean chain lube. doesn't fling off, doesn't attract dirt, and a small can lasts me a couple seasons.

I just use a 90 weight gear oil. I have tried the Maxima, gums up so I am not a fan.
