G'day All!
Sorry to bother you all while I wait for my service manual to arrive, but...
What weight brake fluid should I be using on my 1997 KDX200???
I've had poor front brakes since I got the bike a coupla years ago & have just learnt to ride fairly cautiously. Went for a ride with a KTM riding friend, & he suggested the brake fluid type could be a problem.
I think I am using Valvoline DOT4 & have tried some of the bleed tricks mentioned in other posts. Is DOT4 okay to use or should I try another type or brand?
Cheers again!!!!
What Brake Fluid?
Also, I found with my bike, tilt it right over so the resevoir is the highest point of the system (support with milk crate or something) then keep forcefully flicking the break OPEN then letting it flick shut, hit it with the palm of your hand just on the edge so it pings back. This helps to clear any are that may be lurking in the bend that normally lies at the top of the system. Make sure you take the cap off and refill after doing this.
