top end noises
I am new to riding and even newer to 2strokes I have a kdx hybrid 05 220 motor
I just had the cylender replated and new piston and rings put in what I am wandering is when I climb a hill or use highgears. The top end sounds like card flapping against bike spokes has anyone else noticed that type of noiseand is it normal

Sounds like you are talking about the KIPS rattle and, yes, that is normal.

If it's the reeds they are just fluttering, I don't think it indicates a problem
What kind of reeds are you running?

Nice bike!
You said you hear the noise when climbing a hill or using higher gears. I know the 220's have a lot of low end. So are the revs up in those circumstances or are you lugging the bike when you hear it?
If the revs are up, I wouldn't think you'd be able to hear the reeds over the noise of the engine.

I got the impression it was lugging, that's when reeds will flutter

and by lugging do you mean being a gear to high?
