FMF Repack.

Finally repacked my silencer, and it cost less than $4. Passed by the local boat repair shop, bought one square yard of fiberglass mat. Packs very nicely, seems full. The best part is, it runs and sounds great. Anyone see a downside to this?

Just make sure the thickness of the material is consistent with the FMF or other brand of re-packing. Check it after a few weeks to make sure it is intact but otherwise it should be good!

Sidenote: a couple fiberglass strands did fly out in the first minute or two of idling. And my exhaust smoke was shiny for five minutes of riding. Everything seems normal now though :mrgreen:

I'm not sure there is anything that you couldn't use. I have heard of just about anything that would fit getting wadded up in there. Let us know how it holds up.

i get the yellow one, it's better.
Sure can't tell the difference with the fmf repack stuff...

A roll of un faced house insulation is a lot cheaper and it's like a lifetime supply! :partyman:
