...getting the right side clutch/crank case cover to seal ??

Gasket looked ok

I torqued everything down and poured the oil in and the **** poured all over the floor

Took it all apart and repeated the above 3 more times

Same outcome

Maybe I need to drink some beer and then start over

Drank a few beers and the gasket appeared to be shot so I scraped it

May try "The Right Stuff" tomorrow

I had a lot of trouble getting my clutch engine cover to seat fully the last time I had it apart. It turns out that I can't remember what it was hanging up on. let me go make some pancakes and I'll let my brain think on it a while. This has been a public service announcement from dfeckel.

Now I remember. It was the shifter shaft/mechanism. It looked as if the shaft was fully inserted and the mechanism all in the right spot, but it was not. It was just high enough to keep the clutch cover from seating fully. You might want to check the shift shaft and related mechanism.

hmmmm, could be I just replaced the shifter shaft

Pretty sure I did the same thing a 2 years ago and forgot all about it

Wow can't believe how much easier it is to find neutral with the motor running now that the lever is mounted so much more solid to the sift shaft

Dude, I did that exact same thing with a kx100 after we'd split the cases to replace a few transmission gears just a few weeks ago. Funny! I bet our clutch cover woulda leaked too. When we tightend the cover down and tried to shift, the shifter didn't move free. It was very stiff, and would stay wherever you put it. I jus happened to want to test it after everything was stitched up. We were gonna pull the motor back out and re-split, but I tried it again after he loosened the clutch cover and it would shfit just fine. Investigation behind the clutch cover turned up the flipped washer. We were havin beers also. Maybe beers and buildin motors really don't mix??
