Does anyone use the 2nd gasket packaged with the vfIII between the manifold and the reed block?

I wondered that myself. I did not. Seemed that the gasket and the ribs on the rubber intake boot wouldn't line up good together when I held the gasket up to it. On mine there is no air leaks at the boot to Vf seem.

I thought so as well,it never hurts to ask.The interface between the manifold and reed block had a gap when held together using hand pressure. After bolting on it appeared to cinch down flush.Did your exhibit the same condition? Was any carb re-tuning needed,if so what did you have to do?
Thank you

I had the same gap thing too. I installed mine at the same time as my freshly RB'd carb so I cant help you with the jetting.

Next time you have it apart could you take a look at the gasket on the boot side and see if you can tell how it was hitting? Just wondering if it hits good or just kind of hits. Thanks.

I did VF3 today and called Moto Tassinari and the tech department said you can use it if you want but you do not have to. The guy said if the rubber boot was not in great shape then use it. I used it anyway as it wouldn't hurt....I figured better fit with less chance of sucking air.
