from the guides ive read the only place to mirror polish is within an inch of the port opening to the cylinder (according to yamaha's TZR tuning manual)

i will admit i was wrong, polishing all along the ports does create a power loss

neatening up ports and matching will always equate to more power, even if it is only 1 or 2 hp it doesn't cost much to take a dremel to your barrel :p

the reason i was asking was cause sometimes you open a bike up and find the casting to be completely abysmal

that being said, what a bunch of $#@&ing wankers, this has got to be one of the most closed minded forums i have ever visited :butthead:

you have to learn how to take people...........once you get to know everyone, its becomes kinda like family. :partyman:
as for being the worst website???? trust me, ive been on a good many websites, and this is the only one i come to now............that being said,

your not really porting, your just cleaning up the ports. all you need to do, and i think thats what you was intending to do, was knock the casting material down. theres nothing wrong with doing that. i do all mine that way. good luck.

Relax man. Questioning someones motives and their reasoning for doing something should promote healthy discussion, and help you in the end. If you are open minded enough to listen to criticism that is negative along with the positive there will always be something to take away from a discussion. With both sides laid out on the table, it is easier to step back and see the whole picture. If you are not such a person, and can not do this, you will indeed not find much help over here. I doubt you will find a forum anywhere where everyone is going to be gung ho about everything you want to try. If you did find such a forum, it would not be very helpful!!!

Honestly, why would you open a thread and ask only for one specific type of feedback? How does that help? I want to know why people want to do things, and why they do NOT want to as well. One sided conversations are pointless.
