Hey man. How bout some info on that headlight you use? That's a UFO, right? It looks like it has two 35w bulbs. Do you have any trouble using both lights? I found a good deal for one on Ebay, and thinking about grabbing it. I will also wire in a VR, I think, as my 89 never had one.

I have a Moose lighting coil

I'm not sure of the wattage of the bulbs. I usually run one wide beam and one spot

They are plenty bright at night

Here is the light I'm looking at....

I already bought a VR to use. We put a polisport light on my buddies KTM, and now I need a light too... lol. Might just get a 65w coil from rickystator.

lights ordered, vr ordered. Probably just stick a 3 position switch behind the cowl somewhere.

All my pieces are shipped and on the way. Hopefully I can get this stuff wired up this weekend. I'm going to give it a shot on the stock lighting coil and see how it works. If it's unsatisfactory, I'll look into doing something with the coil.

I forgot the wire from the regulator one time and burned the light up

Aha. My buddy did that on his KTM. Took him a bit to figure out some PO had pulled the VR off his bike. Say three light bulbs, then me coming over and going, "uhhhh... you got no voltage regulator."

I thought it was funny that the 89 200 never came with a regulator. I ordered one on ebay from another E bike and will just wire it in. The 89 is the last kdx without a VR, and it uses a different bulb than the 90 - 2006. Interesting? I never had the stock light working, but I'm guessing it kinda blows.

Any suggestions on which of those LED's will work with this light??

Pretty sure it is a MR16 dual pin

Obviously the ones that protrude out from the lens would not work

Cool, thanks. At $39 each it might be a while, but when I can I'll get me a couple. You like the spot and flood combo you're using? Do you have it wired one at a time, or one and then both, or always both?

Both on all the time

Halogen bulbs are about $3 - $5 at a electrical and plumbing shop I got to

Yeah, those 7.5w LED's look pretty sweet though!
