FMF Gnarly pipe deal but can't identify (Woods or Desert)

I found an FMF Gnarly pipe for the KDX220 over on Bikebandit.com for $183.99 which is a good $20+ cheaper than the next lowest priced retailer. I know FMF makes a desert and woods version (and that the desert is much preferred for the 220). Bike Bandit lists two internal (not manufacturer) part numbers for this pipe/bike application but there is no way to tell which is which. I posted a question on their little online thingie and plan on calling them monday but maybe someone here can tell me which is which? Here is a link:

At the very least I figured I'd post a heads up over here for those in the market for a pipe, this is a pretty solid deal....assuming you can tell which is which.

There's no telling without checking with them directly.

Let us know by their item number which is which when you find out.

It's not the FMF part numbers in question, it's the Bike Bandit item numbers.

Exactly! That is why he said to contact Bike Bandit to find out which FMF part number they are selling under their part number.

Opps, sorry, misunderstood.

I added a "ed" to the word "call" when I read it.

It's been a long day in my world.

I just did the "Live chat" thing with BB and this is what went down. Keep in mind that this took over an hour to complete so he had it coming.

Please wait for a BikeBandit.com Live Help operator to respond.
You are now chatting with 'Andrew - Sales'
Andrew - Sales: Welcome to BikeBandit.com's Sales Department. If your question is concerning a part, please include the YEAR / MAKE / MODEL of the machine it is for.
Andrew - Sales: hello

Andrew - Sales: How may I assist you today?

rbates9: Hi I am looking at your item # 39216 it is an FMF Gnarly pipe for a kdx, could you please tell me the fmf part number that this item is so I can determine which of the two pipes it is? Thanks

Andrew - Sales: Let me check on that for you. Do you mind holding?

rbates9: Thanks, no!

Andrew - Sales: I'm sorry for the delay. Please bear with me just a moment longer.

Andrew - Sales: FMFKG30

rbates9: That is not a good FMF number

Andrew - Sales: ok unfortunately i cant cross reference the fmf number

Andrew - Sales: just our numbers

Andrew - Sales: if you gave me the fmf number

Andrew - Sales: i could maybe pull it up

Andrew - Sales: and then we would be able to know which one you needed

rbates9: I was looking for 020056 or 020057 can you tell me if it is one of these

Andrew - Sales: sure

Andrew - Sales: those are both coming up the same pipe

Andrew - Sales: click here for pipe

Andrew - Sales: just for different bikes

rbates9: One is a "Woods" pipe and the other is a "desert" pipe. The KDX 200 and the KDX220 are the same bike as far as the pipes go. But the 220 responds better to the desert pipe.

Andrew - Sales: ok with those part numbers thats what camre up in our system

rbates9: Does your system give the 020057 for the 200 and the 020056 for the 220?

Andrew - Sales: let me check

Andrew - Sales: what year?

rbates9: 2000

Andrew - Sales: they fit both machines

rbates9: That is what I was saying! lol. so you can't tell me the fmf number?

Andrew - Sales: lol unfortunately there is no way for me to tell

rbates9: How far from the ware house are you?

Andrew - Sales: unfortunately we would order that part and it would be sent to us then sent to you

rbates9: Can you order it and tell me what the number stamped into the mounting flange is?

Andrew - Sales: the only way to order it is to purchase it

Andrew - Sales: do you have the fmf number?

rbates9: 020056 is the the desert 020057 is the Woods.

Andrew - Sales: thats really weird that they are both coming up the same

rbates9: http://www.fmfracing.com/Products/BikeA ... KI_KDX220R

Andrew - Sales: i would think if you fit it to the 220 then it would be the desert

rbates9: Thinking and return shipping cost are different.

Andrew - Sales: Thank you for waiting. We'll be with you in just a moment.

Andrew - Sales: usually we would send you a return shipping label

rbates9: Thats not the point. I would rather order the right part the first time.

rbates9: "Get it fast get it right get riding"

Andrew - Sales: exactly well unfortunately i cant cross reference those part numbers i'm showing that those will fit both machines

Andrew - Sales: Is there anything else I may assist you with today?

rbates9: Yes they will fit both bikes. But one pipe is for low end grunt (woods) and the other is for more top end (desert). Both will fit both bikes but the desert is more desirable than the woods on the 220.

rbates9: Yes, could you tell me if item #39216 is the fmf part number 020056 or 020057? Thanks!

Andrew - Sales: ok which one did you want

rbates9: I wanted the 020056, desert pipe.

Andrew - Sales: for the 220 or the 200

Andrew - Sales: 39216 is the 020056

Andrew - Sales: and is the gnarly desert pipe

Andrew - Sales: and it fits the 200 and 220

rbates9: Thank you, Thank you very much!

Andrew - Sales: 220r

Andrew - Sales: your welcome

rbates9: and it fits the 200 and 220 True!

Andrew - Sales: Is there anything else I may assist you with today?

rbates9: No You have done a fine job, Your friends and family should be proud! Eat well and sleep well tonight, You have earned it!

Andrew - Sales: ok you too

Andrew - Sales: Thanks for visiting us at BikeBandit.com! We hope to hear from you again soon.

So, item # 39216 = 020056 desert pipe. THANK YOU! Tried calling yesterday but got put on hold too long and had to leave for work.

To be fair to that sales guy I have heard of FMF using the KG30 and KG35 part #'s before for the Gnarly pipes. Google it or search this site.

Anyways, thanks again.

It kinda turned into a game after a little while. I was doing other stuff on the computer so I just checked the chat window every once in a while. I figured it would be a thirty second question.

I just ordered one myself. I'm going to give it to my son for his 14th B'day. While I was on BB, I ordered a FMF Power Core 4 for my CRF450, only $191. Sweet deals.
