rear caliper to carrier pins advice

Post by casola »

my caliper is pretty sloppy on the carrier that it slides on. It looks like its just the pin on the carrier and the pin on the caliper that thread out. Is there any source for these pins?

Thanks in advance,

Joe

Sorry I can't answer.

Do the holes in aluminium parts are worn out?

Happened to me...just got a complete ''like new'' 2003 KDX220 caliper and carrier bracket from Ebay.

BTW it was a direct bolt-on installation for my '89

Yeah they are $8 for the rear pins at RockyMountainATV.

are they the same pins that hold in the brake pads? typically they are different then the pins the floating caliper slides on. Im looking for the ones that the caliper floats on. One screws into the caliper and the other into the carrier.

The brake pad pins are the only part number I can find.

No

Do the holes where the pin goes in the caliper and the carrier are worn out?

u talkin about the one that goes into the black rubber piece filled up with grease?
I may have one laying around, will have to look. Try filling the rubber part with good thick grease should help. They are suppose to have some play.
A pic would help understand what exactly your are talking about

the scotts guard looks great but it still doesn't include the caliper slide pins. I solved the issue by going to autozone and finding caliper pins that were the same diameter, cutting them down and putting a die on it for the thread pitch. Worked like a charm.

Thanks for the insight everybody,

I think I may be missing the rubber piece that fits into the carrier. I have the one that goes into the caliper. If anyone has the one that fits into the carrier let me know.
