Can Anybody Identify These Parts I Found Laying In My Case?

Post by Road Rash »

I know, first post (I'll go to the induction page soon  ) and I'm asking for help

I went to install my Revloc Clutch that I purchased though this site (Thank you, and also Thanks to wibby).

When I pulled my clutch basket out, this is what I found

Image

Notice the marks on my clutch basket, where something was rubbing.

In the 5 years that I've had the bike, I've had no problems with it............hey it's a KDX..........and I have never had it apart, but I know the PO did...............so what do you think.........put it back together and ride it............or tear it down to (try and) find where the missing pieces came from?

Thanks for any advice.

Wish I could have come up there, I'm not sure your bike has a functional powervalve anyway

Least I know you can't bore an E that big and keep the kips

Yes sir. That's what ya broke. Cheap to fix, just buy a clutch cover & rt. Side engine case gasket, with the governor pin set up.

here's the part #SKU: 185196
Mfg. Part Number: 13236-1260

http://www.ronayers.com/Fiche/TypeID/26 ... er(s)(2_2)

I would guess the marks on the basket came from these broken pieces

Here's what it should look like

Wonder where the screws went?

13236 is the part that broke. I am 100% sure....The screws are probably still intact. The piece breaks in half.

This an E bike? As I understand it, the 240 kit sacrifices the powervalves.

Yeah it's an H, I just was not sure how large of a bore it has

I bet that thing has been broke quite awhile

I imagine that thing would run even better with the power valves working, but I would not worry about it until you get ready to do a top end, chances are, they are all gummed up anyway

I see that part is the "LEVER-COMP,GOVERNOR" so maybe that's why the bike is so hard to kick (like it has lots of compression)?

It's allway's ran great just hard to kick, not hard to start, hard to kick........matter of fact the only that has broke on that bike is the kick lever.

I doubt it has anything to do with that

The lever does not open the valves until about 6,000 rpms I think

Unless the missing piece is jammed somewhere in the kick mechanism...
I had a piece stuck behind the clutch and one of the gear for the kick.
Cracked both of them...
