The other 1.15 is roughly the reserve plus whatever I leaked out when I put the kickstand down.

It's funny (not) how the KDX behaves when reserve is about to be in the picture. It runs a bit wimpy ("What the heck's wrong with my bike?"), the idle is off, sometimes it sputters -- for a few miles. I should have switched over earlier.

What sucks more fuel, higher RPM's, or Higher speed/gear?
That's an oxymoronic mutual exclusivity.

The greater sucker will be the situation that creates a greater pressure differential in the carb combined with air flow rated as volume.

The answer could as well be, 'No!'

Might be time to pull the petcock and clean the screen.

Any machine I've had that has a reserve acts the same way. What with bumpin' sloshin' turnin' brakin' and bouncin' around, sometimes the reserve tube gets a gulp..sometimes it don't.

It's good to switch as soon as there is a starving for fuel symptom. That said, I hardly ever do!

And once my bike DOES run out of fuel..restarting it is a pain. Putting the choke on helps a good bit, btw....

There's nothing tricky about this job. Are you looking for specific stupid things to do? Things like clamping the tank in a vise and cracking it. Or dropping the tank and busting the cap or petcock. Or setting the petcock down on the ground, then having to run to the store to get cleaning supplies you forgot you were out of before starting this project. Then backing you car over the petcock, crushing it. Stuff like this?
