While I have no experience with the KDX pump seal, I do with pump seals in general. Typically, when a carbon/ceramic pump seal runs dry, the heat build-up and lack of water/glycol to lubricate the contact sealing faces will cause the seal to fail. Might be a good idea to check the pump seal for leaks before you run it again.

im pretty sure the pumpseal is included in in the top end kit
but I pulled the cover off to check the impeller anyway so it will get replaced, thanks for the advice

I mainly just meant on a regular steel/iron sleeve, I would do like julien said with the scotchbrite/acid on the plated cylinder.

gave it a good once over with scotchbrite pad and wd40 (couldn't find the acid) and it doesn't seem too bad
I can somewhat feel a little roughness right above the exhaust port but noting to get my nails caught in
new piston and call it good?

Those are good news. Now a new piston,wrist pin bearing and top gaskets and you should be good to go.

Lol I can get a ten pack of hose clamps for under 2$ at Advanced auto in their commercial parts dept.

So, he needs six of them. At $.20 a piece. So that is $1.20. Would you mind paying the $3 to ship them to him so he doesn't have to go to the store and buy them? It would be great if you could. Thanks

FYI you all. 'Mothers Ball' sold at many auto parts stores in the detailing section, works perfect for cleaning up your cylinders. Fits on your drill, spray with WD and insert in cylinder, pull the trigger. No more scrubbing till your arm falls off. Set drill on lower speed to keep the WD from flinging on your new shirt. Worked well for me.
