Got my first KDX on Friday. It is a 2001 KDX 220 with an IMS oversize tank and barkbusters. Other than that it appears to be stock. I bought it ro replace a CRF230 that I used to trail ride with my 10 year old son. I am very happy so far. We went to Highland Park in Cedartown, GA on Saturday and I put over 70 miles on the bike. Wow what an improvement in suspension and handling over the CRF230! I am new to the forum but will be checking in frequently to look for suggestions/Mods. The first thing is to get a good kick stand! I also need to look into heavier springs since my weight with all my gear is around 230lbs. Any Suggestions? I also want to put taller handlebars or risers to make riding standing on the pegs more comfortable (i'm 6'3"). Anyway I am looking forward to digging in the my new bike.

Welcome. That definately has to be an improvement over a CRF230. There are lots of things you can do to upgrade a KDX and this is the place to learn about them.

Welcome! You have lots to read up on about your new bike and this site is just the place to do that. But beware! My wife was suspecting I was cruising porn sites and that no way I could be THAT interested in a dirt bike to spend that many hours on-line over the subject. Ha!! Maybe yours won't mind.

Welcome to the site, Greg! I owned a TTR230 and rode it less than a summer before I started looking for my KDX so I know where you are coming from. You're in the right place to find out about everything you wanted to know about that 220.
