Howdy from Texas!

Old ex-racer getting back into riding. I've done alot of research off and on over the last several years dreaming of getting a bike again just to come to the realization that I couldnt afford it, untill now! When thinking about which bike would be best for me I allways came up with the KDX200. I just want a trail bike that is "Woods worthy" and cheap. I'm also looking for another hobby. Something to play with, something to build, something that stimulates my mechanical and analytical abilitys.

I'm going to build a bike I have never seen in person! :partyman: And I mean, I'm not going to buy a bike and restore it, Ill be building it from parts I buy from the usual places piece by piece. This is what I have coming so far.

89 frame
92 frame
92 forks with triple tree
92 swingarm with linkage and a few other odds and ends.

I'll be having a ALOT of questions and yes I know how to use the "Search" option so if I ask a question that may sound stupid, it's because I really am stupid! :pop: Or I may challenge yall with stuff like, I want a KX tank, seat and plastics on an 89-04 KDX. Maybe even YZ stuff if all its takes is moving a few mounts! LOL

My idea so far. Frame will be Imron in silver. Tank, seat and plastics to look like a KX 2fiddy. No lights and most likely, homemade wiring harness. Motor stock cept the Fatty and the airbox. Stock suspension set up for a 50 year old, 210 pound guy with racing experiance back in the day and rides Mountain bikes. That means, I might twist the throttle a little!

Thanks for the welcome in advance and I apologize for any stupid questions that I will come up with. lol

Why not start with the perimeter 'style' 'H' frame?

Maybe 'cuz you have an '89 and '92 frames, 'eh?

See? Stupid questions abound!

As long as you're putting something together, why not 'upgrade' along the way? Put some USDs on anyway....

The 'E' series KDX motor is quite a puller. They're usually kind of hard on KIPS parts..have an inherent weakness on the LH side I believe.

Have fun!...and welcome!!

Your a troll? lol
Hey, man, the carver may be a troll, but he's a genius, man. You listen to him. The man's enlarged my mind. He's a poet-warrior in the classic
sense. I mean sometimes he'll, uh, well, you'll say hello to
him, right? And he'll just ignore you, and he won't even
notice you. And suddenly he'll grab you, and he'll throw you in
a corner, and he'll say do you know that 'if' is the middle
word in life? If you can keep your head when all about you are
losing theirs and blaming it on you, if you can trust yourself when
all men doubt you -- I mean I'm no, I can't -- I'm a little man, I'm a little
man, he's, he's a great man. I should have been a pair of ragged claws
scuttling across floors of silent seas. Can you feel the vibe of this place?

Why would a nice guy like you wanna ask a genius if he is a troll? You know that the man really likes you. He likes you, he
really likes you. He's got something in mind for you. Aren't
you curious about that? I'm curious, I'm very curious. You
curious? There's something happening out there, man.
You know something, man, I know something that you don't
know. That's right, jack. The man is clear in his mind, but his
soul is mad. Oh yeah. He's dying, I think. He hates all
this, he hates it! But ... the man's ... uh ... he reads poetry out
loud, alright? And a voice! A voice. He likes you because
you're still alive. He's got plans for you. Nah, nah, I'm not
going to help you, you're going to help him, man. You're going
to help him. I mean, what are they going to say, man, when he's
gone, huh? Because he dies, when it dies, man, when it
dies, he dies. What are they going to say about him? What, are
they going to say, he was a kind man, he was a wise man, he had
plans, he had wisdom? Bullsh-t, man! Am I going to be the one,
that's going to set them straight? Look at me, wrong.

Do you know what the man is saying? Do you? This is dialectics.
It's very simple dialectics. One through nine, no maybes, no
supposes, no fractions -- you can't travel in space, you can't go out
into space, you know, without, like, you know, with fractions -- what
are you going to land on, one quarter, three-eighths -- what are you
going to do when you go from here to Venus or something -- that's
dialectic physics, OK? Dialectic logic is there's only love and hate, you
either love somebody or you hate them.

Welcome Gary Your bike will look UNIQUE! :supz:

Now back to the main subject: canyncarvr :hmm:

Why he always wear a cap? Do he found a cap everywhere he stops?

Posted: 10:09 pm Feb 22 2008
by skipro3
He tucks that cap down his pants for "protection" kinda like a cup.....
When we stop, he does a quick swap of helmet to cap, then back again when we are ready to ride once more.
I think troll's sex organs are on top of their head....
