Hello from Pekin, Illinois!

Post by KDX Butterfly »

My name is Kirsten and I was referred to this site by my brother-in-law, the owner of this site.

I am 42 and only started riding about two months ago. My husband and brother-in-law started me out on a ttr 125 and now I am getting the feel of my husband's KDX 200. I have always wanted to learn how to ride and now that they have been patient enough with me to teach me, I can't get enough! They have taken me trail riding at Southfork Dirt Riders in Taylorville, Illinois, on the trails there and I can't believe how awesome it feels to "rip" (yeah, like I "rip" yet! ha) through the trails there. I just don't like the trees that think I am the one who is supposed to go around them!

Any tips or advice is VERY welcome!!!!

Looking forward to more adventure and to learning how to work on my own bike when I get one.

So, it's NOT true....you CAN teach an old dog new tricks!!!!

Welcome Kirsten,

Sounds like you've got some great people to learn from. The KDX is a great next bike from the TTR.

Get some danged boots!! Knee guards too.

Have fun out there!

Welcome to the site, Kirsten . . .

It will be a pleasant change for us old, fat guys to have a lady participate and contribute.

By the way, just like Colorado Mike suggests - get them boots, and while you're at it some upper body, elbow, and knee protection.
