The noob

Post by Superwilly »

Hi everyone, this is my first post. I'm excited to join this forum - it looks very active and informative!

The reason for my thread title - I'm a total dirtbiking noob! I'm 30 years old, and never rode a dirtbike until 2 months ago. Now I own an '85 KDX 200 - I was told it was good bike to learn on.

I'm gonna have LOTS of questions about my bike - I really want to learn how to set it up and maintain it properly - I hope you guys don't mind the dumb noob questions that I'm going to be fielding! First thing I'm going to do when I get home is take a few photos of my bike, and upload them for you all to too look at. I honestly don't know what is stock, and what isn't - I'm sure you'll all be able to tell me ALOT about the bike that I don't know. I'm a big guy too (270 lbs - yes I know I need to lose weight), so I'm going to need some tips in setting up my bike to better handle my m(ass). :)

Thanks for accepting my registration, and I'm looking forward to being apart of this community.

Cheers,
Superwilly

My friend was about 240, when he rode my 85 200, way back. He laughed at the bike, but had panic on his face when he opened it up. Pulled his ass along fine, even though it looked like a mini with him on it.
