I'm back in the KDX fold. My last KDX was a 1986 200 and I had it in 1989. I was a very bad woods racer but "graduated" to a brand new leftover 1989 YZ250 in 1990 and added a weighted flywheel. I proceeded to blow out my ACL in 1992 at the Boyers, PA GNCC, and thus my stellar 250C class career was over almost before it got started.
Today I picked up a 1996 KDX200 and man, I have a lot of (re)learning to do. It needs a few things but it's serviceable as it sits other than I have to find a USFS legal muffler/spark arrestor. It has an old FMF Powercore on it. Here's hoping I can figure it all out again against my wife's wishes and at my advanced age!
KDX 200, second time around.

Re: KDX 200, second time around.
Thanks KDXGarage. For sure I have been perusing the board for a couple months looking for what to look for. At the end of the day I got a serviceable 27 year old bike for a good price. It's got some needs for sure. I've got a heavier spring on the way already as for my 290#, that's a requirement. Needs new front pads, new perches, probably some risers, and a couple other things but it's got decent tires, Devol guards all around, and it's got a purple tank/shrouds!
I'm 6'5" too so I am currently looking at higher seat foam options.

PURPLE!!
It's not running, but I also have a 1996 KDX200. I do like that purple (violet official name).
