No longer lurking
My last bike purchase officially made me a Kawasaki guy. After unloading the DRZ400S battleship I decided KTM would be my next brand. It took a year of getting stuck and falling down for me to realize orange was not going to happen. Remembering how much I liked and how well I rode my '91 kdx200 I started the search for another KDX. After a couple near misses I latched on to an '03KDX220. It was the daughter bike of a pair that was for sale near Issaquah. Seat was cut down, rear lowered with adjustable link, both ends revalved., clean. I went through it inside and out. First ride was a trail work mud-fest in Hood River. The 220 did no wrong. I was planning to remove the sticker kit when I bought it but decided it was no big deal. I since added 50 teeth to the rear, RB carb, cut an inch off each end of the bars, lengthened the kickstand to accomodate raising the rear, ODI soft grips, IMS wide pegs. The TurbineCore 2 is a little louder than I like. I don't know if a Q would make much of a difference. I ride Hood River county and Gifford Pinchot NF and anywhere I can in Klickitat county.
