Hey all, I joined this forum awhile back and jumped straight to asking questions. I realized I hadn't even posted an introduction
Anyways, I'm the new owner of an old 1987 KDX200 here in Oregon. I've owned quite a few bikes and atvs, but never had a single Kawasaki before (not by choice, just never came across one).
The plastics will take some work to restore, I may be open to ideas of replacements instead if anyone knows of a set that fits. The bike has definetly seen better days and has been put thru it's paces by previous owners, but the engine is solid and everything is there, and the bike doesn't look like it was neglected too bad by the last owners maintenance wise, but with the right care I think I can restore it back to its glory days.

Re: Old KDX New Owner
Restoring OEM or DC Plastics may be your only options. Be aware that DC Plastics may be a non-glossy vacuum molded finish, not glossy injection molded like the orignials (or most any other modern plastic).
Thank you for participating on kdxrider.net.

Re: Old KDX New Owner
I went the DC plastics route on my IT490 and while they look better than not having plastic the fit was not perfect and the color is a bit off from the factory blue. Restoring the old ones if possible would be what I would try first.
1990 KDX200 FMF Fatty, Answer VFC silencer, VForce 3 Cage, Wiseco Piston, KX125-J series KYB USD fork conversion, Race tech goldvalves, J series front brake assembly, air-box snorkel removed, Acerbis Headlight, KX450F Front fender, Pro Taper RM bend bars, ASV front Brake lever, MSR Clutch perch and lever, RB Head mod, 36mm PWK carb, Trail Tech Kickstand.

Love the air cooled KDX's.
I would probably go the DC route while restoring or trying to hunt down some nice originals.
